In 2023 Somerset dissolved all its district councils and became a unitary authority. Consequently, a new town council was created for the county town of Somerset, Taunton.
As part of the development of this new council we helped build on existing cultural partnerships in the area to help develop the cultural strategy, which has now become part of the council’s policies and ambitions.
Having advised on many parts of the strategy, we were also lucky to have our consultant Andrew Knutt’s arts centre mentioned over 11 times within the strategy, which has been one of the leading organisations in the area for over 12 years.
